The Confederacy

In the Dresden books, The Paranet is created and gathers some traction nationally. In Dallas, the Paranet basically joined up with what already existed here locally.

This is a loosly allied organization of minor-power supernaturals. They are all over the Metroplex, but in the Dallas area they tend to be strongest in the Lower Greenville, Deep Ellum, Oak Lawn areas.

If they could ever band together and agree on anything… they’d probably be a threat. They generally can’t even agree on a name. The Confederacy is the one most folks call it, but non-whites tend to prefer “The Freakshow” … so some do a compromise and call it “The Freakshow Confederacy” … yeah, that’s how unified they are. They can’t even agree on a name.

Jamie Harper’s estranged wife Raven was member of the Freakshow Confederacy before her fall to dark magic and disappearance. Jamie knows many of the members of this group, but has never considered himself to be a member. Some members of the Confederacy consider Jamie to be a aloof jerk who probably killed his wife. Others appreciate the help he occasionally gives to spell casters in trouble and feel sorry that his wife went nuts.
