Please find herein my continued description of the events of August 1st and 2nd, 2012.
The “Scooby Squad” regrouped at the residence of Warden Harper, undoubtedly for a planning session, and then set out via the NeverNever to approach the den of the “Fort Wolf Posse.” While in the NeverNever, some of my resources observed that the group was attacked by a mass swarm of the Invictae (once again, those are the local denizens of the NeverNever that are effectively enormous “Fire Ants”). Though I believe the group took some minor injuries, overall their progress was not significantly slowed by the ambush.
Based on previously observed interactions between these two Comitati, one would have expected continued violence. However, as near as my sources have been able to divine, no such events occurred. Rather, the “Scooby” group left with the much disputed Malk very much intact. As there were no explosions, bodies blasted through walls nor windows, or any such other expected display of force I can only assume parlay and negotiation won the morning; unexpected to say the least.
During the day itself, the Scooby group had a meeting with the Satyr Oreamnos, the individual that had, the prior evening, played the flute that had lulled the Lycanthropes into a placid state that allowed for the abduction of Ms. Goodchilde. As for the topic of discussion at the meeting I can only speculate based on what happened next.
Later that evening, both Comitati actually met together, along with the Satyr Oremanos, and assaulted the NeverNever stronghold of Lord Montfort and the Invictae. Warden Harper’s group even went so far as to bring with them their other two members previously uninvolved in the events at hand – Ms. Hiyashi Ren, my niece, and Mr. Matthew Consprite, an individual of Faith.
At last, the expected violence ensued. Perhaps only one Comitatus would have been insufficient to the task of assaulting the Invictae mother hive. However, between both, with that much magical support and preparation, it was a foregone conclusion. Lord Montfort, the prior Ant Master, met his death. I have information suggesting that it was a grueling battle, and most (if not all) members of the assaulting Comitati were injured to various degrees.
The most interesting event of the attack on the Invictae Hive; however, was what appears to have happened upon meeting the “Queen” of the Invictae. Oreamnos, the Satyr, took over the mantle of Lord of Ants. I can only assume this was done to put a more “friendly” party to Warden Harper’s Comitatus than previously existed in the position. From what I understand, both assaulting groups left with great haste as the Hive Queen and Oreamnos set forth to consummate their new union. In truth, I would have done the same.
The balances of power only slightly shifted these past two days, but shift they did. The consequences are as yet unknown.
As always, in loyal service to the White Council,

- Game date: 9/13/12
- Milestone: Major (Invictae removed as a direct threat to the party, a Campaign Face was eliminated, and a previously antagonistic Threat group is now Neutral/Favorable… pretty big win for the party over all).
This concludes Season 1 of Dresden Files Dallas. Hopefully some webisodes will detail the events in-game in between August 1st and September 27th, when next we meet and Season 2 begins!
Minor shifts in your character sheet – as per a Mid-Season Powerup – are fine.
Bennies at start
- Conor 4 + 0 + 2 = 6
- Elena 2 + 2 + 12 = 16
- Jaime 2 + 2 + 2 = 6
- Erica 0 + 2 + 4 = 6
- Matthew 3 + 2 + 1 = 6
- Ren 3 + 2 + 0 = 5
- Cody 1 + 2 + 2 = 5
Bennies at end
- Elena 11
- Erica 4
- Jaime 3
- Conor 3
- Cody: 3
- Ren: 3
- Matthew: 4
Explanation: Since I lost the Bennies note, I reset to as it was at the Beginning (except Erica that spent all hers for sure) and then gave back the 2 automatic for game start (the auto, plus the compel) as my apology for losing the sheet. I seem to strongly recall that most folks had not used their own bennies, only the 2 freebies at most. This really benefits Erica the most I think as she now regenerates 2 :) (except Conor, both because he’s the “GM character” and also I know I spent the 2 autos) … then I added the postgames written since. Elena’s has the most massive jump due to adding her “back pay” for the several 10k wordcount full game transcripts she did.

I think this is one of the best games we have played so far. It very much had a feel that was similar to the Dresden novels.
On a personal note, I love that next season there will be a group called the “We Hate Jamie Harper” club.

I tend to agree, Rahal. This was an awesome session!
