Elena awakens from a bad dream only to discover that it’s more real than she realizes! Her “waking dream” has followed a trail of death to Canton! After calling Conor to come and get her (which he does by virtue of being a World Walker) they head back to Dallas to plan and scheme.
They learn that the biker gang in question are The Mayas – a particularly nasty hispanic 1%er biker gang. Elena also finds a picture of the killer online as well as clues that lead to Pleasant Grove. The heroes (Conor and Elena) conduct a night-time “reconnaisance in force” of the neighborhood with the benefit of Conor’s fae glamours. Things don’t quite go to plan and they’re spotted… but not before Elena is able to get a bead on the killer.
Using her stealth… she puts a 45 caliber slug through the guy but he lives. How? The heroes beat feet and get the heck out of Da Grove.
While at the Maya “lair” Conor encountered a few ghosts in the Nevernever. Using that as leverage they bring in Jaime to help try and get the local cops involved. After discussion with Dallas’ resident ectomancer an overly elaborate plot is hatched. It’s goal was to force some of the buried bones to the surface and give the police probable cause to bust up the Maya hideout. The plan was foiled by the simplest of unplanned things… a crooked cop on the take. Money changes hands and nothing happens of significance. It’s Da Grove after all. Some things never change. However, the heroes know a supernatural reporter trying to make a name for herself… maybe she’d like an exclusive involving murder and police cover ups?
Falling back to plan two… a huge Motorcycle ride-in and expo… the heroes attend and see what’s going on. Several of the biker clubs in the area are in attendance and it’s discovered that there’s a rash of missing Old Ladies (the biker’s girls) amongst all the other problems going on. The heroes jump in with both feet when they see a biker spike a girl’s beer with a roofy. They get involved and save the girl… but don’t get much else accomplished when – as they’re leaving – they see some bikers toss a girl in the back of a van and drive off.
